About

Rupal Verma is a policy analyst with the Economic Law and Policy program at IISD. She specializes in sustainability standards, focusing on implementing and integrating private sustainability standards to foster sustainable value chains.

Prior to IISD, Rupal worked as a sustainability expert in India, Latvia, Germany, and Switzerland. This includes her time as a sustainability standards expert at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and advisor for the United Nations Forum on Sustainability Standards (UNFSS).

Rupal holds an Erasmus Mundus joint master’s degree in environmental science, policy, and management from Central European University in Hungary, the University of the Aegean in Greece, and Lund University in Sweden.
