About

Nolan is an expert on social, equity, and sustainability topics. Working as part of the Product Development team at FoodPLUS, he seeks to provide solutions for the verification of agricultural workers labor and human rights, including supporting the development of the GLOBALG.A.P. Risk Assessment on Social Practice (GRASP).

Previously, he has held positions as Corporate Responsibility Manager and leader of quality certifications for agricultural companies in Latin America, as well as international consultant for the FAO, supporting research in Europe and Africa.

Nolan has been a Professor at Boston University and Oklahoma State University in the USA, teaching courses on environmental protection, human and labor law, rural development, and agricultural economics. He is also currently teaching at the University for the Humid Tropics in Costa Rica on the topic of voluntary certifications.

He holds a PhD in agricultural economics from Oklahoma State University, a Master's degree in Comparative International Labor Law and Environment from the American University (Washington DC, USA), and a Lawyer and Notary degree from the University of Costa Rica.
