Personal statement
In a world of virtual communication, it is often the case that face-to-face meetings no longer happen. The GLOBALG.A.P. SUMMIT is an excellent opportunity to bring together people from all backgrounds and industries to learn from each other to protect our food supply in the future. I am excited to be able to represent Oceania at the SUMMIT in September, and very much hope to meet many of my global colleagues in person rather than through a computer screen!
Karen joined New Zealand Apples & Pears in 2023 as the Chief Executive Officer after 20 years in the pipfruit sector. Before NZAPI, she spent 18 years with Scales Corporation Ltd, most latterly as their Group Health and Safety, Compliance, and Sustainability Manager.
GAP programmes have been a part of Karen's career since the very early days of EUREPGAP, and she is delighted to be a part of GLOBALG.A.P. moving into the future.
