Personal statement

The GLOBALG.A.P. SUMMIT is a unique chance to meet so many people from all over the world with a common interest in good agricultural practices. Meeting, discussing, and developing common goals makes us stronger in sustainability producing food for the world. Personal contact is an advantage nobody should miss.

About

Jürgen studied business economics and began working in the fish industry in Bremerhaven, Germany, in 1999. In 2006, he became the first MSC consultant in Germany, responsible for the analysis, evaluation, and development of the national seafood chain.

For almost two decades, he has been Category Manager Seafood & Cheese for the Globus retail chain. Since 2009, Jürgen has also been actively involved with the Seafood Expo Global trade fair in Barcelona, Spain, assuming various roles as jury member, chairperson, and advisory board member for the Seafood Expo Global Award.

Between 2009–2019, he gave speeches at the North Atlantic Seafood Forum in Oslo/Bergen, Norway, on topics such as fish in the German retail sector, as well as at the last GLOBALG.A.P. SUMMIT 2018 in Lima, Peru, on standards in German retail.

Jürgen was previously a member of the GLOBALG.A.P. Aquaculture Technical Committee between 2016–2019, and since 2021 has been a member of the GLOBALG.A.P. Chain of Custody Technical Committee.
