Betina Monika Jahn is an agricultural engineer and farmer by training, and still works on her family's farm growing wheat, barley, rapeseed, and sugar beet. After her studies, she worked for the German Universities of Giessen, Göttingen, and Vechta in the field of networking for the feed and food industry.
Betina joined SGS, an international testing, verification, and certification company, in 2002 and is responsible for the implementation of certification systems within the Agricultural Services and Consumer Testing Services for food. She is involved in several national and international developments focusing on sustainable biomass and biofuels, as well as other raw materials, food-related SGS test marks, sustainable supply chain services, and "From Farm to Fork" certification solutions.
Betina was a founding member of the GLOBALG.A.P. national technical working group (NTWG) in Germany in 2005. Since 2009, she is Head of Innovative Product Management and responsible for new verification and certification-based products within SGS Germany. Her experience is specialized in quality management, supply chain certification, identity preservation, and certification standard development. She has managed several projects in South America, Southeast Asia, and China, as well as projects in Europe and Germany.
As of 2021, Betina is also the Head of the Certification Bodies for product certification at SGS Germany GmbH and SGS INSTITUT FRESENIUS GmbH. Both CBs cover numerous certification standards from agriculture, feed, food processing, wholesale, and retail.
