About

Bengisu is a Sustainable Finance Officer at FMO, the Netherlands Development Bank. Her primary focus is increasing FMO’s green finance in the agriculture, food, and forestry sectors, as well as supporting FMO’s clients in adopting sustainable practices.  

Bengisu has a background in development finance and climate strategy, having worked at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) prior to joining FMO. She has field experience in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Turkey. At EBRD, she led the Circular Economy Platform in Turkey to increase the take up of circularity in the private sector, in terms of both providing finance and technical assistance. She was also engaged in policy dialogue with the Turkish government to increase investments in renewable energy, energy efficiency, and circular economy.

Bengisu has a master’s degree in Energy and Environmental Policy from the New York University.
